As soon as Shannon could pick up a pen she was drawing on anything she could; papers, walls, a photograph of her 2 year old self in magic marker, causing endless trouble for her parents. When she was finally able to decide her own elective courses in school, she chose all art and photography classes against the advice of her high school guidance counselor (who had felt math and science credits a more practical course).
